Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where is the nursery located?

The nursery is located in my backyard behind the stores/apartments. I ask that you please park out front in the parking lot and walk back in between the two buildings to access the nursery. This way my neighbours driveways are not blocked out back. Please call 416-948-6659 before showing up, visits are by appointment only.

  • Can I shop in person?

You may shop in person by appointment only. I accept cash and e-transfer for in person purchases. Please contact me by phone, 416-948-6659, if you wish to schedule a visit to my backyard nursery.

  • Do you ship or deliver bouquets and seedlings?

I do not use a separate shipping service for my seedlings or bouquets. I offer local delivery which occurs every Sunday beginning on April 24th until fall arrives. Someone must be home to accept seedlings or bouquets at the time of delivery as they are weather sensitive and cannot be left on a porch.

  • How much does it cost to have seedlings or bouquets delivered?

The price for delivery is calculated based upon the distance from my nursery. Contact me by phone or email if you wish to receive a quote.

  • When can I pick up my order?

Pick up dates and times are scheduled during online check-out. Please schedule a pick up time within 8am-8pm. Same day or after hour pick-ups may be possible but you must contact me by phone, 416-948-6659, prior to scheduling a time online. Because my work is divided between home and the Burlington flower farm I may not always be available the same day an order is placed.

  • Where is the flower farm located?

The flower farm is located on Hutchinson Farm in Burlington, Ontario. Check out their website for directions, lists of produce and their expected availability as well as farm updates! Remember, as Canadian farmers, our produce is seasonal in nature, make sure to investigate their website before planning your visit!

  • Can I visit the flower field?

Yes, of course you may visit! However, keep in mind that we do not have bathroom facilities and because this is an actively working farm we do not have an area in which to welcome picnickers. Taking selfies and photos is totally okay, I’d love it if you tagged @sowmanyseedlings if you post to Instagram! At this time we are currently not set up to welcome professional photographers. If you are a professional photographer and wish to access our flower field, please contact me directly by phone or email and I can see what we can do.

  • Do you sell buckets of stems for DIY arrangements?

Yes! I do sell buckets of blooms, both to florists, and for those who desire their own bouquet building experience. Available ingredients will fluctuate and change over the growing season. Custom buckets will have to be ordered a minimum of a day in advance. Please contact me directly for any custom requests!

  • Can I order and pick up flowers/bouquets on the same day?

In most cases bouquets can be ordered and picked up on the same day. If you have a custom request orders must be called in and placed first thing in the morning before the heat of the day for same day pick up. Flowers and foliage must be harvested when dry, before the sun hits them in the morning or after they pass into shade and the temperature drops in the evening. Cut stems require a one hour, minimum, re-hydration period before being arranged and prepped for sale. These practices ensure you as a customer are receiving a bouquet that is both high quality and as long lasting as possible. I can accommodate orders outside of these parameters but you must be aware that it is not ideal and arrangements may not appear as fresh or last as long as they would if harvested and cared for as stated above.
